First Session: June 18 – 29, 2018 (Males & Females)
Second Session: July 9 – 20, 2018 (Males only)
Application Fee: $100 per session
Artz in Motion (1st and 2nd Sessions, Ages 10 - 15)
Our Arts in Motion camp is an exciting and action-packed way for campers to keep moving this summer. The workshop will include both hip-hop and jazz technique components, where participants will be encouraged to showcase their artistry through creative movement.
Slam Dunk to Summer (1st and 2nd Sessions, Ages 10 - 15)
Our basketball summer camp is aimed at teaching participants about the game of basketball including the rules and regulations as well as tips and techniques to play the game more competitively and effectively. The camp will provide physical activity, along with quality instruction. All skill levels are welcome.
Writing with Lighting (1st and 2nd Sessions, Ages 10 - 15)
Writing with Lighting will combine both journalism and photography techniques, providing campers the opportunity to explore essential broadcast journalism skills, newsgathering techniques, storytelling and more.
Tech Talk/Time (1st and 2nd Sessions, Ages 12 - 15)
This workshop will provide campers with the basic framework for using technology to discover new information, discuss their ideas, and demonstrate the knowledge that they gather. This camp is designed as a way for participants to use technology as one of the first steps to pursue their dreams.
Cooking Matters (1st and 2nd Sessions, Ages 10 - 15)
In this fun-filled culinary experience, young chefs will practice essential kitchen skills and master the fundamentals of cooking. Kids will enjoy working alongside their peers, learning basic culinary techniques.
Step into STEM (1st and 2nd Sessions, Ages 10 - 15)
The Piney Woods School has established a proven track record in agricultural practices and is continuing to march toward Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) practices. STEM is critically important to today’s society. This conceptual camp will unveil agriculture and robotics practices and how they are operationally related.
To the Tee (1st and 2nd Sessions, Ages 12 - 15)
This golf skills camp will offer an innovative approach to making education fun by challenging the mind, body and motivating campers to learn. Participants will build skills such as teamwork, leadership, and responsibility as they learn to work with others to achieve a common goal. The camp will provide physical activity, along with quality instruction. All skill levels are welcome.
Jr. Conservation Academy (Second Session: Ages 12 – 15)
This academy will be a unique one-week experience for young men who seek more than the average Summer Camp experience. In addition to the traditional outdoor activities, one of the goals of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks (MDWFP) is to introduce young people to experiences that will develop self-confidence, leadership skills, teamwork, and physical fitness.
