Picture yourself celebrating Enkutatash, the Ethiopian New Year on September 12th. Ethiopian students provide history lessons and instruct their peers in cultural song and dance. The party culminates with a sharing of cultural foods cooked by the students. Our student body represents states from all over America and nations across the globe. This cultural diversity gives you a chance to expand your personal narrative, explore travel opportunities, and develop friendships that will last a lifetime.
Recreational activities are designed to promote social skills, creativity, and self-reliance. Students travel to off-campus events, including movies, ballgames, volunteer opportunities, museums, plays, opera, and dance performances. Picture yourself traveling with friends to view the legacy of civil rights in the South at the phenomenal Civil Rights Museum in Jackson, volunteering with them at the Mississippi Museum of Natural History or serving with them as interns in government offices.
Picture yourself in our large campus pool or making friends as you enjoy ping pong, board games, gaming, films, karaoke, and dancing at our Recreation Center.
