Takira Ganée Adams, Valedictorian of the Class of 2026, has consistently embraced opportunities that have strengthened her academically, personally, and as a leader. Her journey reflects a willingness to step into challenging spaces, lead with confidence, and grow through every experience.

Because of her outstanding leadership skills and engagement on campus, Takira was selected to participate in the High School High Scholars program in Carbondale, Colorado, where she took part in immersive STEM-focused coursework, college counseling, and outdoor learning experiences. Her time in the program helped her build confidence, resilience, collaboration, and leadership skills — qualities that continue to shape her path forward.

At Piney Woods, Takira has also been an active part of student life as a member of the Cotton Blossom Singers choir, a cheerleader, and a member of the Student Government Association. Through her academic achievement, leadership, and involvement, she continues to set a strong example for her peers and the Piney Woods community.

Soana Amata Sindayigaya Agasaro, Salutatorian of the Class of 2026, has also demonstrated excellence in and beyond the classroom. Her leadership has been reflected through her commitment to learning, public service, school spirit, and community impact. At Piney Woods, Soana has been a member of the Cotton Blossom Singers choir, served as a United Way ambassador, represented the school as a PWS ambassador, and consistently shown outstanding leadership among her peers.

Because of her leadership and engagement on campus, Soana was selected to attend the St. Albans School of Public Service summer program, where she participated in case studies, civic simulations, and hands-on learning experiences that strengthened her analytical and problem-solving skills while deepening her understanding of public service.

Soana has also represented Piney Woods on a national stage. At the National MANRRS Conference, she earned 1st place in the impromptu speaking competition, receiving monetary awards and national recognition for her achievement. Her success reflected confidence, preparation, and the power of student voice.

Together, Takira and Soana represent the heart of the Piney Woods experience: academic preparation, leadership development, service, resilience, and the courage to pursue new opportunities. Their accomplishments remind us that excellence is not only measured by achievement, but also by character, perseverance, and a willingness to use one’s gifts with purpose.

As we celebrate Takira and Soana, we also celebrate the teachers, staff, mentors, families, and supporters who have helped encourage their journeys. Their recognition as Valedictorian and Salutatorian is a proud moment for The Piney Woods School and a meaningful reflection of the promise within the Class of 2026.

Congratulations to Takira Ganée Adams, Valedictorian, and Soana Amata Sindayigaya Agasaro, Salutatorian, on this outstanding achievement.

Join us in celebrating the Class of 2026 during Commencement Weekend and continue supporting the opportunities that help Piney Woods learners grow, lead, and thrive.
