Celebrating Food Service Appreciation Day 2025 at Piney Woods 🍽️💛

This week, we celebrated Food Service Appreciation Day 2025 at The Piney Woods School, honoring the incredible team that fuels our learners, staff, and community each day. At the heart of our dining experience is Mrs. Durr, our devoted Cafeteria Manager, whose passion and dedication have nourished generations of Piney Woods students for over 34 years.

We had the pleasure of sitting down with Mrs. Durr to hear her thoughts on leading the dining services team and supporting our learners:

On her favorite part of leading the team:"I enjoy me and my team coming up with different ideas for the students because I love to get their input on different types of food that we can try."

On the role of dining services in supporting learners and staff:"This is the first thing that you guys do after you leave the dorm: come here to eat. I enjoy seeing you guys satisfied for your breakfast. And when you have a good breakfast, you have a good day."

On the impact of recent cafeteria updates:Our dining hall recently received upgraded coolers, freezers, and new furniture, and Mrs. Durr shared the difference these improvements have made:"It has impacted tremendously. We have enough food that we can put away for emergencies or anything else. I can actually order more food."

On the dedication behind preparing meals:"It's not easy, but it makes me happy when my students are happy."

On the importance of food, fellowship, and community at Piney Woods:"It takes time and dedication to do what we do. If it's not in your heart, it's going to be displayed in the food. We know you guys eat with your eyes, so if it don't look appetizing to me, I know it won't look appetizing to you. This is your three meals a day, so if you guys don't get satisfied, I don't get satisfied."

As we celebrate Food Service Week, we want to express our heartfelt appreciation for Mrs. Durr and her incredible team. Their tireless commitment ensures that every meal is more than nourishment—it’s a reflection of our school’s values of Love, Excellence, and Empowerment. Thanks to their dedication, our learners start every day fueled, satisfied, and ready to thrive.

Here’s to the team behind the meals, the smiles, and the energy that keep Piney Woods moving forward! 🍴💛

In order to play Golf Orbit, players must make accurate strokes and properly timing their movements, which forces them to respond fast to obstacles and course circumstances. Playing repeatedly helps develop strategic thinking and observational skills, which are highly helpful in real-world scenarios like time management or making snap decisions in sports.

The way you presented complex information so simply is remarkable. Place dominoes on a grid, match numbers to clever constraints, and solve daily brain teasers that test your math and spatial skills. It’s like a mix of Sudoku and classic dominoes with a twist! pips nyt
