The Piney Woods School extends heartfelt gratitude to alumnus Brandon Lewis and his wife, a filmmaker and director, for their generous donation of a movie-grade camera and video equipment to our Creative Arts Department.
Brandon, who recently returned to campus as a featured speaker during the 2025 Founder’s Weekend Alumni Brunch, continues to embody the spirit of Piney Woods — one rooted in legacy, service, excellence, and a deep commitment to opening doors for the next generation.
This meaningful gift will provide Piney Woods learners with access to professional-level tools that can help them explore the world of film, storytelling, digital media, and creative production. More than equipment, this donation represents opportunity. It gives our scholars the ability to sharpen their technical skills, build confidence behind the camera, and discover new ways to share their voices, perspectives, and talents with the world.
At Piney Woods, we believe in educating the Head, Heart, and Hands. Gifts like this help bring that mission to life by connecting classroom learning with hands-on experience. Through creative arts and media production, our learners will have the opportunity to develop practical skills, tell meaningful stories, and imagine futures in film, communications, design, entrepreneurship, and beyond.

We are excited about what this donation will make possible. From student-led video projects and campus storytelling to future creative arts opportunities, this equipment will help expand the ways Piney Woods scholars learn, create, and lead.
We thank Brandon Lewis and his wife for investing in our students and believing in the power of their stories. Their generosity is a beautiful example of alumni impact — returning to pour into the place that helped shape them, while helping prepare the next generation to step boldly into their purpose.
Because of alumni like Brandon, the Piney Woods legacy continues to grow stronger — one gift, one student, and one story at a time.
