Here at The Piney Woods School, we continue to extend our legacy beyond campus walls.
Recently, President Crossley and the Cotton Blossom Singers were honored to join the local Rotary Club for a special gathering centered on leadership, service, and community impact.
In his remarks, President Crossley reflected on the enduring mission of Piney Woods — founded in 1909 as a beacon of faith, resilience, and opportunity. He shared how the school’s commitment to educating the Head, Heart, and Hands remains as vital today as it was more than a century ago. From its historic foundation to the innovative academic and agricultural programs shaping scholars today, Piney Woods continues to stand as a model of transformative education.
The Cotton Blossom Singers further elevated the occasion with moving musical selections that reflected both excellence and tradition. Their performance served as a powerful reminder that the arts remain central to the Piney Woods experience — cultivating discipline, confidence, and spiritual grounding in every learner.

Together, the message and the music illustrated what it truly means to Learn. Love. Live. Black History. Not as a moment confined to a month, but as a legacy carried forward through leadership and service.
Engagements like this reflect Piney Woods in action — strengthening community partnerships, sharing our story, and demonstrating that our mission extends far beyond the classroom. As we look ahead, we remain committed to deepening relationships, expanding opportunity, and continuing a legacy that prepares students not only to succeed — but to lead.
Help Piney Woods continue to empower learners through leadership, service, and excellence.
